Kelsey & Dakota
6.16.18
I have lived on the Palouse for all 22 years of my life (I know, I know…I’m a baby). Some people call me crazy for wanting to stay in the same place I grew up. I get it, I suppose, who doesn’t want to travel and see the world? I guess I just find myself very content here. I love seeing familiar faces everywhere I go, living in a close-knit community, having my family around, and enjoying the small town charm. One of my favorite things about owning a venue in our small town is hosting weddings and events for locals. People I grew up with, knew through sports, or even just passing by in a wheat truck. Everyone knows everyone around here and that isn’t a bad thing! I could go on and on but let’s get to the point…fast forward to when Kelsey first toured the barn. I was nervous as heck, rambling, and probably sounding somewhat like an idiot. We still had a lot to do in the barn but Kelsey smiled through the mess and began to envision with me. I went over a couple of things and gave her the full tour. I think I listed about a hundred things that still had to be done before the barn would be wedding ready. I am pretty sure she never stopped smiling. Kelsey was so vibrant and kind. She kept referring to her fiance, Dakota, but I didn’t assume it was anyone I knew. When Dakota messaged me it finally clicked! Dakota grew up just a couple of towns away and I am sure we have crossed paths a time or two. I was honored and thrilled to have a familiar face getting married in our barn. Not to mention, our FIRST ever wedding at PKB. These two couldn’t have been a better first couple. We were down to the wire, doing last-minute touches to the barn just a few days before their big day, and they never said a peep. They were the most easygoing and gracious couple. The pair threw an awesome party with their family and friends, while managing to make it through a couple of rain delays. The White’s had a down right gorgeous wedding. Thank you Kelsey & Dakota! We wish you a lifetime of happiness and love.
